Tips for shooting with HDV cam

* HDV is highly compressed so consider converting this MPEG-2 stream to something else to improve editing or compositing quality during post.
* Make the choice between 1080i and 720P early on.
* Consider shooting in PAL and adjusting audio for 24P especially for conforming HDV to uncompressed HD.
* Get the right camera for the job.
* Consider using an adapter and a 35mm lens.
* Reduce MPEG-2 noise with an HD-SDI Converter and HDCAM Deck.
* Plan up front what will be needed in the finishing process.
* Shoot at high shutter speeds if you plan fast pans or tilts as MPEG compression does not lend itself to high quality at low shutter speeds.
* HDV audio is less forgiving than PCM audio, so pay close attention.
enjoy shotting with hdv :)
